![]() Orangatongue Tingler has had it's third Chilli review. So far it's been reviewed by The Clifton Chilli Club & Ady The Chilli Hunter; now it's the turn of the Chile Foundry to review it. Obtaining a 8 out of 10, is a great accolade for us. See what they say HERE. The reviewer highlighted an area we are currently working on to improve & that's our labels. Concentrating up to now on developing the flavours of our range, we didn't want to go for style before substance. So watch this space over the coming months to see what labels we come up with. ![]() At one of our Farmers Markets a few months ago a customer bought a couple of items including our Strawberry & Bengal Naga Chilli Jam. Explaining as we always do, some of the great ways to use our range which included putting a dollop of Jam in your morning porridge. Then last month this lady contacted us, to say she had tried the Jam in porridge & loved it. So much so, that she wanted to feature our product in the magazine she worked for (www.food-mag.co.uk), as a great addition to the winter breakfast table. ![]() Here's what they wrote; "WINTER'S HOTTEST BREAKFAST try Strawberry and Bengal Naga chilli jam dolloped on your porridge. It gives a truly scrumptious kick to breakfast. It's made by The Chillees (www.thechillees.co.uk) aka Nick and Francine Lee in Somerset, using their home grown chillies." ![]() Thanks to the ChileFoundry for our first review from them, for HabApple Chilli Chutney. Check out the link to see what they made of it....... http://www.chilefoundry.com/2013/12/03/the-chillees-habapple-chilli-apple-chutney/ Can honestly say we are chuffed to have a review from this great chilli website under our belt. The site is run by chilli heads for other chilli heads, with lots of great information & a must to add to your favourites list. Thanks to everyone for all their work, especially Chris "The Lurch" & of course the Shep-sters who reviewed our Chutney. ![]() On a cold November morning Mrs Chillees went into Tone FM for a guest appearance on the Breakfast Show with Darren. Taking along our "Wake me up before you Go-Go" Chilli Seville Marmalade, "Strawberry & Bengal Naga" Chilli Jam & three different sauces; "Smoky Jo" (Smoked Chipotle), the new "Yellow Peril" (7 Pot Chilli Sauce) & our award winning "Naga Burn". Reducing Darren's fellow presenter Ben to tears; well it was early in the morning. Impressively Darren handled the new hot "Yellow Peril" very well. Thanks for inviting us to the station. Listen to the show here. ![]() This year's harvest we have some great super hot chillies and our new sauce uses the Yellow 7 Pot Chilli. So called as one chilli is hot enough to give heat to 7 pots of food. Along with our own Yellow Habanero and Yellow 7 Pot Chillies, this is a truly local sauce using yellow cherry plum tomatoes, apples, cider vinegar and honey all sourced within 5 miles. 7 Pot is an incredible chilli and we feel we have used the best ingredients to compliment their flavour, making the most of these great chillies. Good accompaniment with Fish, Cold cuts and a great additive to any soup, stew or curry, with it's natural sweetness and the citrus undertones of the Yellow 7 Pots. Available to order now along with all of our sauces from our online store. Proudly The Chillees' Naga Burn Chilli Sauce has received a Silver Award from Taste of the West. Wooo hoo - Go us!
![]() The Chillees have added a little heat to the Taunton Flower Show Food Hall this year. The Show runs on Friday 2nd & Saturday 3rd of August in Taunton's Vivary Park. A wonderful day out with plenty to see & do for all the family, whether you are a gardener or not. The Food Hall has some incredible local producers including a few regulars from Taunton Farmers' Market; Sarah from Bloomberry Juice & John from Somerset Ducks. Our first year there & we were presented with an award for the Best Presented Stand in the Food Hall. Soooo exciting. ![]() The lads from the Clifton Chilli Club review another one of our range. This time it's Not So Mellow Yellow Chilli Jam. This Jam is a soft set, so you can easily drizzle over meat to marinade or on sausages for a lovely sticky sweet & warm treat. Also really great in a toasted cheese sarnie too. Thanks for the comments lads. Look forward to seeing you all at our next Chilli Festival at Upton Cheyney in September. See the review here. |
